May 6, 2026 — 8:34 AM Pacific — 5°30′ Aquarius

Tomorrow morning, while most of the West Coast is just waking up, the Lord of the Underworld pauses in the sky and begins his long backward walk through Aquarius the Water Bearer. From now until October 15, when Pluto stations direct at 3°04′ Aquarius, the planet of birth, growth, decay, death, rebirth, and buried truth turns its gaze inward — and asks us to do the same. Outer pressures may ease somewhat, but underneath, something essential begins to reorganize. Old fears around belonging, around being seen, around futures we’ve been chasing that were never really ours — all of it surfaces for review.

Interestingly, this retrograde unfolds entirely within an ancient celestial gateway. In traditional star lore, the early degrees of Aquarius sit within the asterism of Niu the Ox — known as a gatekeeper of the heavens, governing thresholds, sacrifices, and offerings. That feels exactly right for this moment. Pluto in Aquarius is asking us to stand at a threshold and decide what we are willing to lay down so we can pass through. Where have we given our power away to a screen, an algorithm, a crowd? Where have we dimmed our own frequency to belong? What version of the future are we building from truth — and what are we still constructing from fear?

This is a slow, internal revolution. It will not arrive loudly. But by the time Pluto stations direct in October, the version of you reading this column will not be the version of you walking into autumn — and that is not a loss, that is the point. Take the lantern. Trust the dark. The gatekeeper only opens the door for those willing to leave something behind.NAMASTE
