Pluto, the dark Lord of the Underworld and planet of secrets, revelations and release, destruction and rebirth turns retrograde as part of its yearly cycle. This occurs May 4th at 8:27 AM on the West Coast of North America on 3° of the sign of radical, revolutionary, unpredictable Aquarius. Pluto will go direct on October 13th at 1° of the sign of the Water Bearer. Now that Pluto has left Capricorn for ever and moved into unorthodox, futuristic, impersonal, yet visionary and humanitarian Aquarius ….the game has changed completely and irrevocably even though some of the Players are still the same, but the rules have changed. Pluto retrograde gets down to business because it takes no prisoners, no holds are barred. Truth is either a casualty or the Reward ; Elimination, Transformation and Regeneration are Watchwords.
Pluto retrograde will promote introspection and analysis with regards to themes of intensity, trust issues, honesty, and assorted control dramas. Power struggles and buried emotions may resurface. This is a major shift as Pluto’s effect becomes more internal or introspective rather than manifesting externally in our lives. Themes around emotional wounds, manipulation, oppression, or cruelty as well as psychological concerns are areas highlighted during the next 4 1/2 months. Mercury messenger of the gods will enter solid Taurus on May 10th, which may at first seem smooth, soft and comforting, but don’t be lulled into complacency or trust everything you see or believe everything that you hear… as Mercury in Taurus may be sensual, soothing and seductive, but can also gaslight us, sidetrack us, and bestow meaningless platitudes rather than deliver Truth or Results.
For now be prepared to recognize and to release all those things which no longer serve as Pluto cleans house like nobody’s business ;kind of like burning something out with a laser or fumigating the whole house with a tent!
