Full Moon in Aquarius, July 29, 2026
Dancing on the Edge of Forever
The Full Moon in unorthodox, unusual, futuristic, and revolutionary Aquarius — also known as the Buck Moon in Native American lore — falls on July 29, 2026, at 7:36 AM Pacific Daylight Time. It brings one of the strongest solar signatures of the year, because the Sun now sits close to Jupiter in Leo, at less than half a degree of separation. This condition, or aspect, is known in traditional astrology as Cazimi: Jupiter is said to be in the heart of the Sun. With both in Leo, we can expect passion, drama, maybe some fireworks — and some relief after release.
The Moon in Aquarius will conjoin Pluto, also now in Aquarius, pulling everything up out of the depths — sometimes going back years and years to find it. The Moon and Pluto, both deeply emotional celestial bodies, attempting to cope with cool, rational, oftentimes detached Aquarius, may not have it easy. Needless to say, this illumination — this Full Moon lunation — will feel intense.
The Barbault Basket, or Cradle pattern, is in full swing, tying the celestial events of the sky together into something cohesive and potentially long lasting. This is not an easy Full Moon. We must brace ourselves for anything that occurs, even out of left field, because Uranus, as the dispositor of this Moon, is nothing if not unpredictable. We can expect seismic events or accidents as much as we can expect miracles and breakthroughs. Anything is possible.
This Full Moon on the Leo–Aquarius axis carries powerful, generative tension. Leo is the center of life as we know it — our life-giving Sun. It is radiant, self-oriented, magnanimous, and magnificent: ultimately personal. Aquarius, on the other hand, is the larger field — the transpersonal, the collective — future-oriented, technologically savvy, the slightly impersonal Water Bearer. We are being asked to integrate the personal with the transpersonal, the emotional with the logical, the heart with the mind. With the Sun at 6°26′ of Leo and Jupiter at Cazimi beside it in the sign of the Lion, exceptional strength — rather than combustion — can be drawn upon at this time to get through anything, to get beyond anything, and to make anything possible.
Jupiter is expansive, abundant, optimistic, filled with wisdom and sagacity, and brings good fortune. In fiery Leo, it amplifies creative power, visibility, generosity, magnanimity, leadership, and love. This is the joy of full expression, of creative endeavor, and of going after that which we love in life. The Moon reaches its peak illumination tonight across the Western Hemisphere of North America. Aquarius, always the sign of tomorrow, brings collective opportunity, social expansion, and the brilliance of new ideas that can be manifested here on the earth plane.
The million-dollar question is whether we can receive and process these high-vibrational messages with our hearts, without repurposing or redirecting them into something merely practical, unfeeling, or mundane. The Moon at 6°30′ Aquarius sits within 2°16′ of deep, excoriating, transformational Pluto at 4°14′ Aquarius — close enough to be felt throughout the nervous system and the physical body, rather than simply downloaded into our minds. This Full Moon promises a breakthrough after a breakdown.
Moon conjunct Pluto feelings are dramatic, but rather than manufacturing drama, this conjunction makes it impossible for us to bypass or deny our feelings. Anything that has been denied, avoided, or too difficult to intellectually process or manage will surface now. Control dramas and power plays in our relationships, our communities, and our businesses may become impossible to ignore. Yet as things seem to be falling apart, they may actually be coming together. This is the perverse, pixilated nature of Aquarius: it doesn’t play by the rules we know. It makes its own rules, throws out the old playbook, and writes a new one.
Pluto has been moving through Aquarius since 2023 — slowly but relentlessly deconstructing, dismantling, even destroying systems, technologies, group structures, our very sense of belonging, and the way we perceive and move toward the future. The personal and the transpersonal meet at the exact degree of this Full Moon; what is now revealed or exposed should be very interesting. We are at a point of no return. It is time for something new.
Aquarius leans toward non-attachment, cool-headed action via ideas, and even a bit of sometimes off-putting detachment. This is the Water Bearer’s way of staying above messy emotional frays and “unnecessary” feelings. Pluto, at this Full Moon, makes that harder to balance or sustain. Tonight brings a catalyzing situation — an epiphany, if you will — about what was, what is, and what now lies ahead.
Moon conjunct Pluto has a way of putting things right in our face that cannot be ignored and cannot be denied. They have to be faced, and they have to be handled. This Full Moon will provide that ground, that basis, in the days to come. For now, you might feel a little spread thin — tense, unstable, full of nervous energy, maybe a little angst-ridden, chaotic, even drained. This will soon pass, and clarity will reappear in full force over the next couple of days, the tension collapsing into ease.
Very momentous and formidable astrological patterns are active on July 29, 2026. The Sun, Moon, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto work together across the firmament. Uranus in Gemini, Neptune in Aries, and Pluto in Aquarius are the slow-moving, generational-level planets rebuilding the planet: how we communicate, how we lead, and how we feel our sense of purpose and belonging are all highlighted. The collective restructuring we are undergoing may feel a bit too personal at this Buck Moon — maybe even destabilizing. But this radical departure from the norm will lead us to a new normal, one far more congruent with our personal and transpersonal structures, bringing new paradigms, new parameters, and — as I have said before — new and amazing, undreamed-of possibilities.
May the hearts of all beings be filled with happiness and peace, freed from suffering and distress. May all beings be safe and secure, free from fear and harm. May all beings be healthy and prosperous, free from pain, illness, and lack. And may all beings live joyfully and with ease, free from struggle and conflict.
