The full moon lunar eclipse today, August 27, 2026 at 9:18 pm PT, falls at 4°54’ of watery, fey, otherworldly and unconditional Pisces. This is not a soft susurrus of an eclipse, even though the partial coverage here on the West Coast seems ethereal, serene, peaceful, even dream-like…calling us to other realms. It is important that we stay in the here and now, even though Pisces is all about compassion, intuition, spirituality, acceptance and transcendence. On the flip side, delusion, illusion, self-sabotage, drinking or drug addiction, victimization as well as Martyrdom are all over this eclipse.

This is the finale, or the bookend, of the last 2+ years, harkening back to late August, early September 2024. That was the first eclipse in this particular Saros eclipse cycle. Tonight’s is the last. The Pisces/Virgo axis of this series of eclipses is progress vs. perfection, feelings vs. facts, and truth vs. fiction. Now we pay attention, reflect, redirect, and redesign our Formats For Living. This is a critical time, an important juncture where we need to make adjustments and be willing to move on rather than to hold on.

The eclipse peaks just hours after the Sun–Mercury CAZIMI in the sign of Virgo — a point of no return in certain areas of our lives to which it is time to say goodbye. This astrological point of extreme clarity reveals information that was hidden, maybe unnoticed, but critically important to moving forward, to moving ahead with the Plan.

There is also a harsh aspect — unexpected, unpredictable and surprising — which is the Uranus in Gemini square. Uranus, radical revolutionary planet, is now moving through the sign of airy Gemini for the first time since World War II. Communication, technologies, business and all forms of media, speech, print, internet and ideas are powerfully aspected. Together these transits bring an atmosphere where previously hidden or unknown information, flashes of inspiration and insight, sudden unexpected changes and rapid shifts in mood, plans, and Events (Personal and World Stage) are to be expected.

Pisces reveals what has been brewing, developing, that which has been occluded or hidden, those things which do often lie too deep for tears….and this eclipse brings up a deep need to release Sorrows, perceptions of Loss or Defeat, or to turn around and walk away from The Past.

We are at a critical turning point. Please be patient — illumination arrives in the next few days. Information or news to which we were not privy, or could not (OR WOULD NOT) see, will arrive and help us to realize and to Accept that a very long chapter of life, a very important one, is now Over.

Because this eclipse falls in Pisces, we are encouraged to follow our insight, our intuition, our psychic flashes, yet remain grounded, remain strong enough to make practical, necessary, maybe some difficult choices with Love and Compassion.
